Inclusion for all people. In all aspects of life. It's not just a dream - it's AKIM.
At AKIM Israel, we don’t simply strive for inclusion – we create it. Founded in 1951, AKIM has grown and operated on the simple belief that every individual deserves the right to achieve their happiest, fullest and most independent life in Israel.
We provide and promote: Opportunity, Inclusion and Belonging for all individuals in Israel with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) & their families. With the support of our dedicated staff, devoted volunteers, and generous donors, we currently operate across 67 branches in 88 municipalities all across Israel.
Legal Advice & Grassroots Advocacy
AKIM’s advocacy on behalf of people with IDD is led by a legal department widely regarded for its unparalleled professionalism. Specializing in the fields of disability legislation and the rights of people with disabilities, our team combines legal experience and passion with community activism and compassion. They are shaping the world to meet the needs of all people and actively advocating for the realization of rights.
Through the department of Advocacy for Inclusion within the community, AKIM provides support and assistance in all aspects of life for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Our Chairman’s Word
“As I started my role as Akim’s chairman, I found myself entering a living space with an inner language that believes in the ability of humans and society to change. This language seeks to put the person at the center and produce a supportive and inclusive system around him, advocating and motivating for maximum inclusion.”

Chairman of AKIM Israel
